Rigging deserves the same attention. I check whether the load has approved lift points, whether edge protection is needed, and whether the center of gravity is known or estimated. Weather and Permit Limits Belong in the Schedule
Wind is the weather issue I discuss most, but it is not the only one. Lightning, poor visibility, heavy rain, extreme heat, and icy surfaces can all affect a lift or the people supporting it. The operator follows the crane manufacturer’s limits and site rules, while certain loads may require more conservative decisions because of their shape. Large wall panels can catch wind in ways that compact steel members do not.
